Mark was born on 10th April 1970 at 7.15am at Ashcombe House Maternity Home, Milton Road, Weston Super Mare, Somerset. He weighed 7lbs 10oz.He was a bonny healthy baby with blue eyes and dark brown hair (which turned blond after 12 months). He remained in the Maternity Home for one week which was normal in those days and then returned to his first home at 8, Meadow Drive, Locking, Nr Weston Super Mare. When in the hospital he had very dry skin which made him very sore as he had to have a bath everyday but when home his baths were reduced to every 3 days and with baby lotion put on it, he soon started getting better. His Dad was in the process of changing jobs and moving back to Tiverton to be near his and his Mum's elderly parents and a move took place in the June to a new 3 bedroomed bungalow at 5, The Brendons, Sampford Peverell, Nr Tiverton, Devon where Mark was able to have his own bedroom. With the summer weather he was able to spend a lot of time in the garden in his pram where he was much admired by neighbours and passers by. He loved going in the car to see both sets of grandparents. Up until he was 3 months old he suffered quite badly from colic after his feed which made him quite irritable and he cried a lot. His Mum's milk was not satisfying him so he was put onto a bottle but it was difficult to find a milk to satisfy him until he was put on Ostermilk and after a while to colic stopped and he did not cry so much.
